Aloha ē everyone,
From attending Hawai’i Community I have learned to see the beauty in having a great support system. With that being said I’d like to send a huge mahalo to my family. My parents, Tyson and Kuualoha Macanas have push me to finding and achieving my educational goals. Love you mom and dad!
To my fellow AJ club members and Kumu Donna Madrid, thank you for allowing me to serve as your Hawai'i CC AJ Club 2021-2022 Secretary. You have given me a wonderful opportunity to get to know you all and a bit more of myself. Lastly, I'd like to mahalo Jessica Waiau from Kamehameha Schools for also supporting me and for continuing to help with planning my next steps after graduation, both high school and college. I am forever grateful for you! Thank you Aunty Jess!
There are many more people I wished I could have listed but aren’t able to. Instead I leave you all with this wise saying by Mary Kalena Pukui, author of the ‘Ōlelo No’eau book once said “ ‘A’ohe hana nui ke alu ‘ia, No task is too big when done together by all. “ At Hawai'i Community College the environment here may be a small community but together we can get the biggest job done by working together.
Mahalo!
