My time here at UH Hilo is one I will forever hold dear. It has taught me so many things not only about the world but about myself as well. I would like to thank all my professors and mentors specially Alicia Takaoka and Celia Bardwell-Jones two inspiring and caring women who helped me along the way. I hope to one day teach with as much passion and determination as them. I would also like to thank my parents. Mi ama y apa que aunque no tenian mucho me lo dieron todo. Muchas gracias los quiero mucho. I would also like to thank all my friends in particular Allison Dupre who never gave up on me. That is a true friendship that developed here at UHH and one that I hope will last a life time. Thank you girl. I can finally say I did it! Grad school here I come.
It is an honor to represent my beautiful country of Mexico and my people. I am wearing a traditional dress handmade in punto de cruz and I am feeling so beautiful and proud. Orgullosamente representando mi pueblo Aguililla Michoacan!
Holding my Mexican flag and making my friends and family proud.
