Kuʻuhiapo Kahilihiwa Villareal Jeong - UH Hilo Spring 2022 Commencement Celebration Graduate
Congratulations on your hard-earned accomplishments and to all of our graduates!
Bachelor of Arts in Communication
Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
Graduated with honors.
Member of Psi Chi National Psychology Honor Society (ΨΧ).
One of the notable revelations I've had while attending the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo was that I was never falling behind in life. I've come to realize and appreciate that wherever I am at a particular point in my life is where I am suppose to be at that given time. There is no fruit that comes from comparing your life based on others'.
I have grown tremendously as a leader and as a community contributor whilst serving in various campus functions and student organizations. From serving as chair for the Board of Media Broadcasting, president of the Psi Chi International Honor Society in Psychology UH Hilo Chapter, all the way to serving in the UH Hilo Committee for Excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, I have gained the necessary experiences that will propel me further into my work in Hilo.
I want to thank all my mentors, advisors, and professors who believed in me. Your support is much appreciated.
With much humility, I thank my family and friends who believed in my dreams, supported my efforts, and cared for me when I didn't have the strength to push forward. I truly believe that a person is only as successful and strong as the community that they surround themselves with.
