Nani F. Marcos - Leeward CC Commencement Celebration 2021 Graduate

I am a 2020 Graduate of Leeward Community College with an Associate in Arts in Liberal Arts and an Academic Subject Certificate in Performing Arts - Dance.

After my first semester at Leeward and with the guidance of Theatre Professor Betty Burdick, I ventured further into performing arts and participated in the Leeward Theatre's production of 'In the Heights,' by Lin Manuel Miranda. My lens as a performing artist grew, and I met a group of extremely talented and loving people.

As a student of the many dance courses offered at Leeward CC with Professor Mareva Minerbi, I danced and posed for photography students. This beautiful shot was taken by photographer Chelsea Yamashiro.

Throughout all of my endeavors including college, my family has always been by my side. They are a great support system who continues to inspire me.

My very first job was as a Theatre Management Assistant at the Leeward Theatre. This was where my love for performing arts grew, where I met wonderful people, and where I learned many valuable skills.

Thank you to my family for their continuous support. They are the key figures in shaping and inspiring me into who I am. I love you and hope to make you proud as I continue pursuing my higher education.
