Spring 2022
Sisters are like fat thighs, they stick together.
Through thick & thin.
Anything is possible when you have the right people there to support you.
Rooted & grounded in love. Thankful for my little family.
I would like to thank my family for pushing me to become a better person and encouraging me in my education. I would like to thank my fiancé Cross Martinez for helping me every step of the way and making sure I was comfortable enough to continue pursuing my dream. I would love to give a special thanks to my older sister Misty and my mother Annette who is always there to remind me that the sky is not the limit and I’m strong enough to get through anything life throws at me. I would also like to thank Jesus for providing me with these opportunities to continue to prosper in every way possible.
When I first began my Associates in Arts in Liberal Arts, I truly did not have the full mentality to believe that I would be where I am at today. I continued to finish up school while pregnant. It was a difficult time due to so many hormones and so many assignments. I made sure to make time for myself and make time to complete my degree. My mindset changed completely and I thank God for that because now I am a graduate!
I do not have a lot of in person memories due to covid, but on a good note my teachers were all so amazing making most of the time we spent over zoom. One teacher Ms. Anika Gearhart showed us her brain collection! Let me tell you, that was the most astounding thing I ever witnessed. I have learned a lot with my time attending Leeward Community College and I am truly sad so see it end. I am not stopping there, I will continue to pursue my education. Thank you to all of my hardworking teachers who put in a lot of effort despite the setbacks that Covid had created for us. We pulled through together. Thank you for all of your knowledge you shared with myself and others, you are truly appreciated.
We never know the love of a parent till we become parents ourselves.
Share the Aloha!
